Chibuike, Yul Daniel Edochie, generally known as Yul Edochie, is a Nigerian actor who was christened after Russian actor Yul Brynner. He is the son of Nigerian actor Pete Edochie and hails from Anambra state, South-Eastern Nigeria.
He experienced childhood in both Lagos and Enugu. He is the sixth and last kid. He got married when he was 22 years old. He acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts from the prestigious University of Port Harcourt.
Personal life
Edochie has three boys and a daughter; he is married to May Aligwe. Kambi Edochie, Dani Edochie, Karl Edochie, and Victory Zane Chukwubuike Yul Edochie are their names. The actor disclosed on April 27, 2022, that he had married Judy Austin, another actress, and had a kid with her as well. Several colleagues and fans strongly objected to the news, while others expressed their support.
Kambi, Yul Edochie’s first kid, reportedly died on March 30th due to a seizure.

Career
Edochie initially appeared in Nollywood in 2005, in the film The Exquires, starring Justus Esiri and Enebeli Elebuwa. He made his debut in the film Wind Of Glory in 2007, featuring Genevieve Nnaji and Desmond Elliot.
Edochie established a film academy in Lagos in 2015. The academy provides opportunities for bright individuals to be exposed to the Nigerian film industry.

Edochie confirmed his intention to run for governor of Anambra State on July 14, 2017. This announcement was made in anticipation of the federal government of Nigeria’s senate passing a not too young to run bill.
The statement was made public on August 22, 2017, when he accepted the nomination form of the Democratic Peoples Congress political party and became the party’s flag bearer and gubernatorial candidate to compete for governor of Anambra State. Yul Edochie reportedly stated his desire to run for President of Nigeria in the presidential elections in 2023.
