Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.) is now speaking with security leaders to examine and reinforce the nation’s security network.
According to reports reaching us, the president canceled certain official engagements, including the opening of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure’s new Technology and Innovation complex, to preside over the emergency meeting with security leaders.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.).
Others are: Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai, are also present.
