The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, on Thursday, endorsed cut-off marks for all Nigerian universities and polytechnics in the country.
The agreement was taken after a warm meeting involving authorities from JAMB, the Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission, and the National Board for Technical Education among a host of others.
For the polytechnics, 120 cut-off mark was endorsed while 140 was supported for all universities in the country.
Earlier reports had before detailed that the JAMB registra, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, at the 2022 meeting uncovered that just 378,639 of the 1,761,338 who sat for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations scored 200 or more.
Based on further measurements of the 2022 assessment, Oloyede stated that 378,639 scored over 200; a sum of 520,596 competitors scored 190 or more; 704,991 scored 180 or more; 934,103 scored 170 or more; 1,192, 057 scored 160 or more.
In addition, Professor Ishaq Oloyede mentioned that the board permitted candidates awaiting results to enroll for the 2022 UTME.
“JAMB allowed awaiting results candidates to register and sit for the 2022 UTME. These candidates can’t be considered for admission on awaiting result status. They must present their O’level results on the board’s portal before the commencement of admissions” He said.
