Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, formally launched his presidential campaign today (Saturday) in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.
Obi’s campaign launch for the 2023 presidential election is taking place in Nasarawa state, Nigeria’s North Central state.
Dr Yunusa Tanko, Chief Spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, LP-PCC, said on Saturday through his Twitter account that the council postponed the original flag-off from the 20th of October owing to the raging flood that ravaged 33 of the 36 states of the federation.
“Our presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has to tour impacted states to empathize with flood-ravaged communities throughout the nation, as the first responsibility of government is to be responsive to the people,” he said.

“However, after the visits of Mr. Peter Obi, our Presidential Candidate, the campaign committee of our great party has judged it essential to formally launch the campaign from Nigeria’s north central geopolitical zone.”
