Prof. Peter Umeadi, who is running for president as a candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), says he has the skills to deal with the security problems that are plaguing the country.
When he spoke at the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) State of the Nation Dialogue in Abuja, Umeadi said this.
He said that he plans to take some steps, such as a full review of the security system with a focus on the police, to deal with the problems.
He also said that the police would be well taken care of and given the right tools to do their jobs.
“If I am elected as APGA’s presidential candidate in the General Election, I will lead the country to end insurgency.”
“With the right help, the police should be able to stay and fight against the problems with internal security.
“My social progress philosophy is all-encompassing, and it will help the country get out of its problems by using true federalism and the idea of effective decentralization of power.
“The problem with the Nigerian economy isn’t its resources; it’s its one-sided economic policies and corrupt crude oil production.
“This has turned the resource into a curse instead of a blessing,” he said.
NBA President Yakubu Maikyau thanked the people who took part and praised the people who came up with the idea for the program.
