As stated by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, the Three Million Technical Talent programme is an integral component of the Renewed Hope initiative of the Federal Government.
The goal of the programme is to develop Nigeria’s digital talent pool so that the country may become a net exporter of talent and make Nigeria a leader in the digital economy.
With President Bola Tinubu’s objective of establishing two million digital a job by 2025, the programme sought to cultivate a stream of proficient digital skilled workers.
In collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency, multiple stakeholders, including fellows, training providers, partners, and placement organisations, will participate in the first phase of the programme.
The organisation stated on its website, “We will fund the cost of their training through training providers accepted into the programme after selecting individuals with an interest in particular skills.”
Twelve technical skills will be prioritised during the initial phase, according to the agency: software development, UI/UX design, data analysis and visualisation, quality assurance, product management, data science, animation, artificial intelligence/machine learning, cybersecurity, game development, cloud computing, and development operations.

NITDA indicated that participants shall be instructed in distinct technical proficiencies that shall bestow upon them the ability to contend in the domestic and international markets for technical expertise. Furthermore, the organisation invited non-facility entities to apply for membership in its collaboration with training providers, which is going to train 30,000 individuals throughout Nigeria.
It was noted that neither the selection process for becoming a training provider nor the companions of the programme entail any financial obligation.
“Proposed applicants are organisations lacking a physical facility for assessment.” “However, when necessary, they will be expected to have access to a physical facility,” the agency stated.
