Nollywood veteran Emeka Ike has shared the harrowing story of how allegations from his estranged wife, Suzanne Emma, led to the loss of his properties and the denial of access to his children.
In 2017, a Lagos Island Customary Court dissolved the 14-year marriage between Emeka Ike and Suzanne Emma due to persistent allegations of battery.
During an appearance on the Channels Television program “Rubbin’ Minds,” hosted by Hero Daniels, Ike recounted how Emma’s accusations of assault resulted in the loss of properties worth millions of naira. The actor revealed that he refrained from addressing the domestic violence allegations on social media because those criticizing him were the same individuals bullying him online.

Ike explained, “I didn’t come on the internet space to clarify the allegations against me because it’s difficult to clarify because the same people that were bullying me on the internet, they were still there. They are gonna say, ‘Don’t mind him. He is still missing her. Move on.’”
He went on to disclose the significant impact the accusations had on his life, mentioning the closure of his secondary school, St. Nicholas College, and a loss of over N480 million in investments that year.

Despite denying the allegations, Ike initially believed his ex-wife’s claims that he was being manipulated due to his celebrity status. He shared, “And she [my ex-wife] said, ‘No. But you’re a star, you know, they can always manipulate things and all that.’ So, I was gullible until I discovered that she was the one behind all this whole thing.”
Emeka Ike lamented the desperation for marriage he observed in some women and urged young men to be aware of those not genuinely interested in marital commitment. He revealed that he had sponsored his ex-wife’s higher education but later realized he was not reciprocally loved.
