Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, has given N50 million to flood victims in Bayelsa State.
Following the catastrophic floods that struck certain states in the nation, Atiku visited the state on Tuesday and made the donation.
According to reports, over 600 people have already perished in Nigeria as a result of the floods.
The PDP presidential contender announced a donation of $50 million to the foundation on behalf of himself and his family.
It is a national emergency relief fund with a mission akin to the one established in response to the COVID-19 epidemic.
The former vice president pleaded with donors to provide more aid to the flood victims.
And so, he continued, “I wish to call on my colleagues and associates in the corporate sector to join me in this cause in their private capacity.”
If elected in 2023, he promised to make sure that long-term solutions are implemented to prevent another flood calamity.
