The nation’s security services have sent a large number of operatives to the federal capital territory (FCT) as terror warnings issued by the United States and the United Kingdom remained in effect on Friday.
Despite the Federal Government’s response that there was no need for concern, the fear in the air in Abuja has prompted a tremendous influx of security personnel.
On Saturday, Vanguard learned of a major deployment of Special Forces and the elite Presidential Guards Brigade in Abuja to deter any terrorist strikes.
Armed security forces, including police officers, were observed patrolling the city center, the Kubwa Expressway, Jabi, and other key locations.
They were also seen near the NNPC Towers and War College in the Central Business District, as well as the offices of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
