Adams Oshiomhole, Deputy Director of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, has remains confident that the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, would be snubbed by Nigerians in the 2023 elections.
This was said by Oshiomole on Wednesday morning during an appearance on Arise TV’s morning program.
The former Edo State Governor was correcting a comment ascribed to the APC’s vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, in which he said that Atiku will retire to Dubai after the 2023 presidential election.
According to Oshiomole, Atiku has a history of being rejected by Nigerians and then fleeing to Dubai after loss.
He predicted that this will happen again in the next election, and he hoped that the ban on Nigeria would not hurt him.
“Given Atiku’s track record of moving, whenever he suffers a setback – it is on record, once he loses an election – he travels to Dubai,” he remarked.
So, he says, since we are certain that nothing has changed.
Nigeria has rejected him three or four times, and even his finest relationship with Obi in 2019 could not yield.
His ticket is no longer as effective as it was in 2019.
“We are certain that, God willing, the same Nigerian people who rejected him before would reject him again.”
And because he has a habit of moving to Dubai if he is denied.
That is precisely what the Vice President intended.
“And I believe Atiku would migrate to Dubai, like he has been doing.”
He feels at ease there.
I hope the embargo on Nigeria has no effect on him.
Hopefully, he will depart.
