Adele has announced that she would leave music after her Las Vegas residency to pursue a degree in English Literature.
The artist, who debuted the music video for her new song I Drink Wine on Wednesday, October 26, expressed regret that she did not attend university after graduating from high school.
Adele, 34, stated in a fan Q&A in Los Angeles seen by The Sun that she will finish an online course to obtain the degree.
‘After Vegas, I really want to obtain a degree in English Literature,’ she remarked.
If I hadn’t made it in singing, I believe I would have become a teacher.
I believe I would be an English Lit instructor.
‘I absolutely feel like I incorporate my love of English literature into what I do.
But, even if it’s unlikely that I’d find a job from my degree, I wish I’d gone to university and had that experience.
‘I won’t go to university; instead, I’ll study online with a tutor, but that’s my plan for 2025.’
It is only to obtain the qualifications.
Adele’s Las Vegas residency will begin in November, following a last-minute cancellation in January.
