A federal high court in Abuja has declared Oladipupo Adebutu the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State Governorship Primary.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, who presided over the complaint brought by Jimi Lawal, who alleged that the PDP utilized an illegitimate delegates list to conduct the primary election in which he participated, dismissed the allegation due to a lack of trustworthy and convincing evidence.
Lawal was labeled as a “spoiler” by Ekwo, who joined the PDP from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in March and took part in the governorship primary in May.
The Judge also decided that the delegates list that Lawal was challenging was accepted by the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and was utilized during the party’s primaries, in which Adebutu emerged as the party’s nominee.
