The Nigeria Immigration Service opened its platform for jobseekers nationwide on Monday in preparation for the 2023 recruitment.
Applicants who wish to apply for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board may do so, according to a statement on the Service’s official website.

- Application start and finish dates
The application period for the NIS began on January 16 and will expire on January 30 of the following year, 2023.
- Application Method
Applications for NIS must all be submitted online.
Additionally, applicants are required to log into the portal in order to complete and submit the application form.
It is encouraged that candidates print out the referee forms, which must be properly filled out and submitted during the screening.
- Positions that are open and their requirements
Category A Superintendent Cadre,
i. Doctors who are members of SI’s Compass 11 professional cadre:
Candidates must hold an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate in addition to a first degree in MBBS from an accredited institution of higher learning.
ii. Pharmacists who hold a Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) CONPASS 10 certification:
Candidates must have an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and a first degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution of higher learning.
iii. Associate Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI)
Candidates for CONPASS 08 must possess a bachelor’s degree, a Higher National Diploma, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Category B:
Inspectorate Cadre
i. Assistant Inspector (General) Immigration
CONPASS 06; Applicants must possess a National Diploma, NCE, or Advance NABTEB from an institution of higher learning that is recognized.
Category C: Assistant Cadre
i. Immigration Assistant; (IA I11)
CONPASS 03 General Duty: Candidates must have a minimum of 4 credits in no more than two (2) sittings in GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, GCE, or its equivalent, with English and Mathematics as required.
ii. Applicants for Immigration Assistant III (IA III CONPASS 03 Artisans) must possess an ordinary level SSCE or its equivalent, as well as the necessary trade test certificate.
- The applicants’ nationality
All applicants, according to the NIS, must be citizens of Nigeria by birth.
- Application-related documents
i. Identification Number
ii. an electronic copy of all certificates and credentials included in the application’s section.
iii. Medical fitness certifications from hospitals with government recognition.
- Drug or other substance testing
To be eligible for the recruiting, every applicant must submit to a drug test.
- Economic security
Even though the NIS did not specify a minimum amount, it stated that any candidates must not be “financially shamed.”
- Minimum ages
With the exception of doctors and pharmacists, who cannot be older than 35, all applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30.
- Computer Skills
Although it is not necessary, the NIS has viewed it as a benefit for applicants.
- Chest Measurement
Only men are eligible, and the applicant’s chest measurement cannot be less than 0.87.
- Failure to provide the certificate
Any certificate or certification that was not declared and accepted during the application process shall not be accepted after the hiring process, according to NIS.
- Disqualification
Persons who submit numerous applications will be disqualified, according to NIS.
- Exam mode
For candidates who have been shortlisted, the recruitment exam will be a computer-based test, and a suitable time and date will be announced.
