Davido, a Nigerian musician, and his baby mama, Chioma, have lost their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi.
According to stories extensively making rounds in various news sources, Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool at his mansion in Lagos State’s Banana Island neighborhood.
Ifeanyi, who was born in 2019, was believed to have been submerged for a long time before being discovered and transported to a hospital in the state’s Lekki district; however, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The heinous incident occurred on Monday night, only a few days after his third birthday (October 20).
Though the Adelekes have yet to issue an official announcement, some celebrities have shared cryptic remarks on their social media pages, which many have misinterpreted as confirmation of the news.
Iyabo Ojo, Ay Comedian, William Uchemba, Paul Okoye, and numerous other celebrities expressed their sympathies hours after the news surfaced.
In an early Tuesday Instagram post, Ayo Makun wrote, “The loss of a kid is unnatural, unjust, and heartbreaking, this hurt me very hard.”
Daddy Freeze wrote “The Darkest Hour.”
“Father heal your children’s hearts from this anguish, empower them in such a dark and cruel moment, oh Lord,” says comedian Lasisi Elenu.
The details of the event are still vague, but sources suggest that the story spread through a now-deleted tweet by Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus.
