If elected president in 2023, SDP candidate Adebayo Adewole has pledged to use technology to generate 30 million new employment.
Adebayo made the pledge during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
The SDP nominee has pledged to use blockchain and corporate partnerships to boost employment.
Adebayo claims he can reshape Nigeria and cut down on unemployment with his policies.
He said, “This is how you get the job done.
It dawned on me that we can’t generate enough new employment opportunities via public spending alone.
I contacted folks who know me well and have worked with me at the US Black Chamber of Commerce and the National Chamber of Commerce in the US.
‘I am a board advisor for several of them and I have gone around the globe with them on employment development,” he remarked on air.
I told them, “You know, we’ve done these things before in many places, and I’ve been your advisor and we’ve done all of them.
I am aware of the concrete measures we may take in Nigeria to entice you to go there so that we may provide you with employment opportunities.
“We sat down and looked at it in various sectors—agro-allied, alternative energy, infrastructure, health and social services, new technologies like block chain and crypto technology—and we discovered that we can create three million jobs times 10—30 million jobs—using 2,000 companies and bringing the production that they are doing inside the country.”
